Kids' Zone

Not your average playground, the Specialized Kids Zone allows kids twelve and under to try out their budding bike skills on obstacles appropriate for their age and riding level in a fully enclosed location, plus a separate area for pushbikes!

  • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and  9 a.m. to 4p.m. on Sunday
  • Open to kids ages twelve and under.  If you little one has been riding for years and the Kids Ride Zone is a step below their riding ability, try out the MTB Demo course.
  • No entry fee required
  • Located at the Specialized Kids’ Play Area inside the Ride Zone.
  • A parent or guardian must sign a liability waiver for their child at the entrance and before they can enter.
  • ANSI- or Snell-approved helmets must be worn by all participating children

Sea Otter Egg Hunt

  • Skipper the Sea Otter hosts the Egg Hunt. Your little ones will love hunting for eggs around the Specialized Kids Zone and the chance to find some eggs with prizes inside!
  • 10 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • Open to kids ages 8 and under
  • Prizes presented
  • No charge
  • Located at the Specialized Kids Zone inside the Ride Zone.

Kids’ Race

Every child is a winner in this age-appropriate competition. Kids maneuver through a course carefully designed to stretch skills and build confidence.

We don’t offer pre-event registration for this event.  When you arrive at the entrance to the Specialized Kids Zone,  volunteers will direct you where to line up.

  • 1 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • Open to kids ages 12 and under
  • No entry fee. No registration required. All racers will be required to wear a wristband that can be obtained at the entrance to the Demo Area, after signing ride waiver. Waivers must be submitted by 10:30 a.m. of each day to be entered into the race.
  • All the finishers will receive a medal
  • All races divided by age category
  • Located at the Specialized Kids’ Zone inside the Ride Zone
  • ANSI- or Snell-approved helmets must be worn by all participating children

Sea Otter Carnival

There are so many fun things for kids to do in the Sea Otter Village—the hard part is trying to leave!

Bicycle manufacturers bring tricycles and kids bikes to try out (plus, adults can try one their own size). If you’ve been looking for a great first-time outfit for your young cyclist, you’ll be happy to see that a number of exhibitors offering cycling apparel for children through pre-teens.

  • Ride on the Kids’ track at the Specialized Kids’ Zone in the Ride Zone,  open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday
  • Carnival Games, arts and crafts,  with covered seating.  Located at the Specialized Kids’ Play Area inside the Demo Area  No charge.
  • Walk through the expo and many of the exhibitors will have fun activities for the kids, anything from scavenger hunts and coloring books, free giveaways and  food samplings,  to interactive digital games and stunt shows.   Check out our event schedule often, exhibitors are adding fun and exciting activities everyday.

Little Bellas

Little Bellas Sea Otter Camp is a great way to give the kids a little break from school and hang out with other rippers, riding the trails around Laguna Seca.  Time to soak up some sun, fun, and awesome cycling vibes at one of the biggest bike festivals in the country. This all-girls camp is an adventure in mountain biking designed to get girls hooked on the sport and engaged in the Sea Otter festival. Little Bellas focus on improving skills and having fun. It is a great opportunity for girls looking to try out mountain biking as well as for those who are ready for the next level of challenge.

The Sea Otter Classic Little Bellas Camp is a one, two, or three day camp. Each camp day will be unique, focusing on fun while teaching different skills through activities and games both on and off the bike. Camp members will have a full access pass to the Sea Otter venue with scheduled meet ups and Q & A’s with some of women’s mountain biking’s biggest names. And of course, the annual Pro Women Rap Battle will go down at the Q & A! There is so much fun to be had, it’s hard to fit it all in! Come experience all this Little Bellas camp has to offer!

Financial assistance is available if needed and we also have equipment available through our Gear Up program! Please communicate any of these needs when filling out the registration form for the program.
