The Sea Otter Classic Foundation
Established in 2012, the Sea Otter Classic Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization born from the Sea Otter Classic—North America’s largest cycling festival, consumer bike expo, race schedule and “celebration of cycling”. Based in Monterey County, California, the Foundation is dedicated to promoting healthy, active lifestyles for children and supporting recovering veterans through the power of sports and recreation.
At the heart of the Foundation’s mission is the belief that sports and recreational activities serve as natural catalysts for building stronger, more connected communities. The Foundation creates meaningful impact through several key initiatives. The organization supports recreational events like the Life Time Sea Otter Classic, through their volunteer program which donates funds to local nonprofits. Their bike skills school assembly program reaches children directly in educational settings, sharing the joy of cycling and the importance of bicycle safety. Additionally, their E-Bikes for Veterans program provides mobility solutions and recreational opportunities for those who have served the country, supporting their journey toward wellness and independence.
Volunteer with the Sea Otter Classic Foundation
The Sea Otter Classic Foundation solicits volunteer help from local organizations.
We make a donation to each organization as our way of saying “Thank you!” for the kind help. In addition, each participating volunteer receives a 4-Day Festival Pass and an official Sea Otter Classic t-shirt. Volunteers are also provided lunch on the day they work.
Please contact Jeff Lindenthal at jeff@socfdn.org if you would like more information about volunteer opportunities at the Sea Otter Classic, or if you are ready to volunteer.
