Demo Guidelines

Why do so many thousands head to Sea Otter Classic each year? One thing attendees most look forward to is the unparalleled opportunity to see and demo the latest bicycles and equipment. Whether you’re young or old, new to cycling, or an experienced cycling fanatic, you are sure to find challenges and fun designed just for you throughout the Ride Zones.

The Ride Zones are the place to test out one of the many demo bikes available throughout the Expo and take home not only big smiles, but new skills to try out on trails at home. See the ‘Ride Zones’ section below for the layout and specific zones.

If you wish to participate in the demo program, you must fill out the form under “Announce Your Demo” below and provide a Certificate of Insurance. More details below.

Basic Demo Bike Rules & Regulations

  • ANSI-approved helmets are mandatory.
  • Each demo participant must sign a waiver and wear a waiver wristband to enter the Ride Zone areas.
  • All bikes must be removed from each demo course by closing time.

Only low speed electric bicycles (LSEB) Class 1 and 2 will be allowed on the eMTB course. Review the Electric Bike Class Label Information here.

Demo Bicycle Check-out

It is solely the exhibitor’s responsibility to develop and manage a bicycle check-out and return process. Sea Otter assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen bicycles. In the event a bicycle is missing, contact the Monterey County Sheriff at (831) 675-5010 to file a theft report.

Please review and share this information with the individual(s) responsible for managing your demo bikes at Sea Otter. For questions, contact Jamie McCray via email.
