Team Support/Tech Support space is again being offered to qualified trade teams that have a team racing at Sea Otter and can provide a team roster to the Expo services director. Team Support/Tech Support qualification includes registering for a minimum of a 20’ x 20’ space in rows 500, 600, 700, or the SRAM Mountain Bike Ride Zone - 900 block.

For the 2012 event, Team Support/Tech Support space is broken down into zones with associated pricing based on the zone location in the main festival area. The space pricing-matrix is listed below, showing the different trade show zones (space numbers) and prices.  Please view the Exhibitor Map to reference the different zones.

The SRAM Mountain Bike Ride Zone, which includes the 900 block, provides a bike-skills test track including small jumps, pump tracks, and other bike-handling skills attractions.  This area is close to the mountain bike trail system used for the competitive events.  There are plenty of paved roads, too, for those preferring a hard surface.

Event Schedule Information

The Sea Otter Classic is a four-day event for both competitive events and the Expo (Exhibitors marketplace).  The hours of the Expo on Thursday through Saturday are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The hours on Sunday are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., to allow travelers to get on the road earlier. 

  • Team Support/Tech Support trailers will be allowed to park inside Laguna Seca Recreation Area beginning on Monday, April 16, 2012. After the event ends on Sunday, April 22, Team Support/Tech Support trailers and vehicles can remain at Laguna Seca until Monday, April 23 at 5:00 p.m.
  • Team Support/Tech Support check-in begins on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and continues on Thursday, April 19 from 6:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.  Earlier check-in dates/times are allowed; however, please phone Skip Latham at 831-373-1860 to make the necessary special arrangements.
  • Team Support/Tech Support participants are entitled to two parking passes and six event wristbands per contract.  Parking passes and event wristbands will be issued when you check in, unless other arrangements have been made.  If any support staff will arrive late, they may pick up their wristbands from the Will-Call area.  Please provide names of any anticipated late arrivals to Skip Latham at skip@seaotterclassic.com.
  • Security will be on-site from approximately 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 through the close of the event on Sunday, April 22.  Sea Otter Classic will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items and does not recommend leaving any items unattended.
  • Loading or unloading of vehicles inside the Expo must be outside of Expo hours. 
  • Set-up is to be completed before 9:00 a.m., and tear-down is to begin only after 5:00 p.m. 
  • Vehicle load/unload hours and other vehicle restrictions will be enforced, including a 20-foot fire lane requirement throughout the venue. 
  • To accommodate Team Support/Tech Support staff who need to bring items in after the Expo has closed to vehicles, Sea Otter Classic personnel can help by transporting items using golf cart-size vehicles.  There will be a designated drop-off area for this purpose.

Other Important Information

  • Alcohol:  Sea Otter has established two new programs to facilitate ease of compliance with alcohol regulations.  Please carefully review the revised Alcohol Policy page in the "Expo Guidelines" section for details, and contact Skip Latham if you have any questions.  Only alcoholic beverages meeting the regulations outlined in the Sea Otter Classic Alcohol Policy are allowed.  

  • Dogs:  Sorry, dogs are not allowed in the Festival, including the racing areas.  This will be strictly enforced.   The only area at Laguna Seca where dogs, properly leashed, will be allowed—although not recommended—is at the campsites.  For details, please refer to the new Dog Policy page.

  • Environmental Stewardship:

  1. We appreciate all environmentally friendly actions.   Please come prepared to cooperate with Sea Otter Classic’s environmental goals.  Your support in this regard is an important part of making Sea Otter Classic an event recognized for good environmental stewardship.
  2. Reduce, reuse, recycle: Reduce use of disposables, especially plastic.  Reuse materials where feasible.  Recycle paper, cardboard, glass, aluminum, and plastic.  Separated recyclables may be placed in approved recycling containers provided throughout the venue.
  3. When the event is concluded, please remove all unwanted items that were brought for booth construction, such as furniture or plywood, as well as any other debris.
