Bicycling Magazine ROAD BIKE TOURS
Century (100-mile) and shorter (mileage TBA) option
Sunday, April 19, 2009
7:00 am sharp! (No starts after 7:15 am) on the Laguna Seca Raceway Sea Otter Bridge.
- Entry fee: $55 (add $20 late fee after March 15, 2009)
- Entry Fee includes: Athlete Hospitality Bag, a post-ride barbecue (valued at approximately $15) plus a four day Festival Pass that includes FREE parking and expo entry (valued at $30)
Bicycling Magazine Road Tours start at daybreak on Sunday, April 19, 2009. Choose from two ride options of different distances. The century route (100 miles) will take you over the beautiful roads of the Monterey and Salinas Valley areas. See the beautiful vineyards, challenge yourself on the famous Laureles Grade on your return to Laguna Seca!!! The shorter option - exact mileage TBA - will feature an easier option than the classic "Monterey" loop.
On either route, riders will enjoy well-appointed rest stops and SAG support, a hearty end-of-ride BBQ, and a raffle loaded with prizes.
Top pro athletes and coaches will be riding along offering riding tips to all participants.
Registration and Packet Pick-up Hours
Wednesday - 12 noon to 6 pm
Thursday and Friday and Saturday - 6 am to 6 pm
Sunday - 6 am to 7 am
Important Registration Information:
- No phone or faxed entries will be accepted.
- You must enter online before April 12, 2009 or on-site (beginning April 15, 2009), on a first-come-first-served basis.
- Children 12 years old and under ride and eat for free when accompanied by an adult! The 100 mile distance is NOT suggested for ages 12 and under.
- Raffle Prizes will be awarded after the ride. Location to be determined - please check at registration when you check-in.
General Event Rules:
- All participants will sign a waiver/release form at registration. Those under 18 years old require a parent's or guardian's signature.
- ANSI or Snell approved helmets required for all events.
- Sorry, no pets allowed at the event or in the camping areas. (per Monterey County Parks Department regulation)
- Merchandise orders can be picked up at Athlete Hospitality.
- All information in this program is subject to change.
