SRAM Mountain Bike Ride Zone and Demo Courses,
Now 22, Sea Otter is all grown up—and still the place to go!
More than ever, as Sea Otter embarks on its third decade, it has a shining reputation for delivering the excitement and experiences sought by the nearly 50,000 bicycle enthusiasts and members of the media who attend.
The Sea Otter Classic is recognized worldwide as a unique stop on the global trade-show calendar. As one of the largest bicycle events in North America—and the largest expo for cyclists—Sea Otter has inspired imitation events by others around the world.
Why do so many thousands head to Sea Otter each year? One thing attendees most look forward to is the unparalleled opportunity to see and demo the latest bicycles and equipment in the SRAM MTB Ride Zone. The Ride Zone is a bike skills test track area that includes small jumps, a pump track, and other bike handling skills attractions. Whether you're young or old, new to mountain biking, or an experienced mountain bike fanatic, you are sure to find obstacles and fun, designed just for you in the SRAM Mountain Bike Ride Zone. Try them all over the four days and take home not only big smiles, but new skills to try out on trails at home.
Sea Otter will also have desiganated courses to test out bikes and accessories on some of the best riding trails and roads in the country! The Mountain Bike Demo Loop will include world-class cross-country trails, and for the road rider, selected road-bike routes in one of the most beautiful places in the USA.
To demo a bike, bring:
- your valid driver's license or other official photo identification
- bicycle helmet
- pedals, if you want to ride something other than platform pedals
In addition, your signature will be needed on the Sea Otter Classic liability waiver, which is provided on-site at the event.

College Cyclery is the oldest bike shop in Sacramento CA. Founded in 1935 it is one of those shops that you have to visit even if you don't own a bike. Just walking in is good for your soul. College has a great selection of vintage bikes, parts and ephemera but they are also experts in the most modern and high tech road and dirt bikes. Owners / current caretakers Terry and Allison Cox sponsor a bike team known world wide as the Flyers. With his co-conspirator Randy Spangler, Terry has built a terrain park and pump track known as the College Cyclery Compound that has become a must stop for teams and riders passing through Sacramento and has been featured in several national ads and videos.
