Starting in 1991, the Sea Otter Classic laid the foundation to bring a celebration of cycling to mid-coastal California. Now in its twentieth year, Sea Otter continues to create the opportunity for competitors, fans, families, and industry influencers to forge and galvanize reputations in front of an international community of peers and leaders. Product debuts from Thule, SRAM and Specialized have become annual attractions while competitive events set the backdrop for racers to test themselves against some of the fastest cyclists in the world. But don't take our word, the following spokespeople are at your service to provide some perspective of the Sea Otter Classic. This year's Sea Otter Classic takes place April 15-18, 2010 at Laguna Seca Recreation Area in Monterey.

Three short months separate the competitors, exhibitors and fans from taking part in the 2010 Sea Otter Classic. Exhibitor and competitor registrations are filling in, camping is filling up, and the plans and possibilities are filling out for what is set to be the best event in its storied 20-year history. The 2010 Sea Otter Classic takes place April 15-18 on the Monterey Peninsula.

Sea Otter Classic is a mega race for most of us, so it is important to ensure that you are firing on all cylinders come April 15, 2010.

In an effort to help our nation's warriors recover from emotional and physical injuries sustained in battle, the Sea Otter Classic has partnered with the Wounded Warrior Project and the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. Donations are currently being accepted on the Sea Otter Classic website.

The Sea Otter Classic, Powered by SRAM, the nation's largest annual cycling festival, has retained Backbone Media to direct its social media outreach. Longtime cycling industry veteran Mike McCormack has joined the Backbone Media team and will manage the partnership with Sea Otter.

It's no wonder the Sea Otter Classic Powered by SRAM continues to be one of the most successful cycling events on the calendar. With a consistent focus on finding new and exciting opportunities to get athletes involved, Sea Otter has added two new elements for 2010: a Gran Fondo and collegiate cycling categories. Returning this year will be the Road Race, Circuit Race, and Criterium for the road cyclists. And, of course, the full gamut of mountain bike events including Downhill, Super D, Dual Slalom, Cross Country and Short Track.
