The 20th Annual Sea Otter Classic will be held April 15-18, 2010 at the Laguna Seca Recreation Area, Monterey, Calif. The four-day "Celebration of Sport" is considered the world's largest cycling festival, hosting nearly 10,000 professional and amateur athletes and 50,000 fans. This year the Sea Otter Classic will not only be hosting the best cyclists from around the globe they are also supporting the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund provides financial assistance and quality of life solutions for Marines, Sailors and other military personnel from the Army, Air Force and Coast Guard who served in support of Marine Forces, and were injured in post 9-11 combat or training, or diagnosed with life threatening illnesses, and their families. Our fund provides relief for immediate financial needs that arise during hospitalization and recovery as well as perpetuating needs such as home modifications, customized transportation and specialized equipment.

When 65 members of the Northwest Festival Hosting Association convened in Leavenworth, Washington on a chilly January morning, changing the lives of 14 young people was not written into the day's agenda.
With assistance from the Specialized Dealer Grant Program, local Specialized dealer Der Sportsman, and Repario (a Nevada based leadership counseling firm) however, the usual droll of networking and idea-swapping in Leavenworth's Bavarian-inspired setting was trumped by tears of joy and the smiling faces of 14 children.
