The Sea Otter Classic Media Center is run by an experienced staff of reporters and public relations professionals.
For members of the media who are on-site to gather information and write stories, these professionals are available to assist you.
For media covering the event remotely, we offer a range of services, including: daily press releases with a recap of the day's pro racing events, general event and race photos, logos, and in some cases, time permitting, photos and quotes of hometown favorites.
Below is a list of services, along with guidance about arrival, information gathering, and filing stories.
ACCREDITATION, CREDENTIALS PICKUP, AND PARKING PASSES
Credentials and Parking Passes may be picked up in the Media Center. We strongly advise that media representatives pre-register for credentials through the Media Center at http://www.seaotterclassic.com/index.cfm/media_credentials.htm. This will facilitate rapid check-in on arrival at the venue, get you out into the action quickly, and help ensure there are plenty of provisions available for you.
The press accreditation process will begin in January 2014. To maintain a high level of service to all on-site media, the number of accreditations available is limited to 300.
Same-day registration may be available, but expect delays at check-in if you have not pre-registered.
The Media Center is in the Paddock area at Laguna Seca Recreation Area, with quick access to Start/Finish locations and festival activities. Follow signs to designated Media Parking just outside the Media Center.
Breakfast and lunch for credentialed members of the media only will be available daily.
The Media Center features fast Internet connection via ethernet cables (provided). You will be able to download/upload files and photos quickly. Wi-Fi is available throughout the Laguna Seca venue, but you will want to be hardwired once in the Media Center. Power outlets will be available. There are no phone lines available.
Lockers will be available to store valuables while you are out covering the many SOC events. Please be prepared with your own lock.
Please ask at the Media Center for:
