2008 Sea Otter Classic Plans Jam-Packed Weekend of Fun and Sport

DESCRIPTION: The Sea Otter Classic is a four-day, action-packed extravaganza of cycling and outdoor sport, featuring a full schedule of amateur and pro cycling events, jaw-dropping displays of cycling tricks, family activities for all ages, and the largest consumer trade show for outdoor-lovers in the world. The unforgettable festive vibe of the Sea Otter Classic comes from the hub of all the weekend's activities, the Sea Otter Village, which includes pro team trailers, stunt demo shows, bike jump contests, kids' playhouses and activities, a food court and beer garden, and the Sea Otter Marketplace, the largest outdoor consumer expo in the world. This year, Sea Otter will welcome the biggest list of vendors in its history, who come armed with samples, brand new product models, technical staff, bargain sales, demo bikes for testing on the trails, and more.
Sport enthusiasts come back every year for events reputed to be the best in competitive and non- competitive riding: Dual Slalom, Downhill, and Cross Country, Road Races and Criterium racing, a Pro Road Circuit Race, Pro Mountain Bike Short Track (The Hurricane of Pain), the Invitational Dirt Jump, Road and Mountain Bike Recreational Rides, Mountain Bike Ride Zone, Bike Rodeo, and BMX Demos. Last year, Sea Otter added a world-class BMX course to challenge Olympic hopefuls and the Super D, a hybrid of downhill and cross-country requiring not only power, but also a finely tuned descending strategy to win. The event is an annual rite-of-passage for nearly 10,000 professional, amateur and recreational athletes, more than 50,000 spectators; and 350+ media representatives from across the globe.
