IMBA California Continues Strong Partnerships

Long-standing IMBA Corporate Members Specialized and FOX Racing Shox recently renewed their commitment to provide support for IMBA California's successful statewide advocacy program dedicated to preserve, protect and enhance great riding experiences. Under the guidance of policy director Tom Ward, IMBA California has established a successful model for regional advocacy -- today there are five IMBA regional directors working to increase riding opportunities throughout the U.S.
IMBA is proud to partner with Sea Otter and expects members from more than 50 IMBA-affiliated mountain bike clubs to attend the event. We will host the annual Mountain Bike Advocacy Summit on Friday, April 16, at Laguna Seca, to address trail access issues and encourage those new to bike advocacy to become more involved. Join us in celebrating recent successes in the Golden State, and to rally in support of new trails.
The Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew recently conducted Trail building Schools throughout California including the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Ft. Ord office in the Monterey area (home of the Sea Otter Classic and IMBA club Monterey Off Road Cycling Association). In a recent action alert, IMBA asked all riders and mountain bikers to comment on the Los Angeles City Bike Plan. We need comments not only from L.A.-based riders, but from riders across the state. Take action now -- the commentary period ends Jan. 8.
Look for the IMBA booth at Sea Otter—with information about how you can connect with other riders and IMBA clubs in your area. Riders or racers interested in receiving training plans and race day mechanical support, plus a great prize incentive program, in exchange for raising a little dough for California trails are encouraged to check out Team IMBA.
