The SRAM Pro Road Stage Race is open to Professional/Category 1/2 Men and Category 1/2 Women.    

 Stage 1 Thursday, April 19 - Criterium (women at  8:00 a.m., men at  9:00 a.m.)

 Stage 2 Friday, April 20 - Road Race (men at noon, women at 12:03 p.m.)

 Stage 3 Saturday, April 21 - Time Trial (3:30 p.m.)

 Stage 4 Sunday, April 22 - Circuit Race (women at 10:15 a.m., men at 12:30 p.m.)

The final stage of the Pro Road Stage Race—the Sunday Circuit Race—will cruise around the Laguna Seca Raceway, with its challenging 300-foot climb and high-speed “Corkscrew” descent. To round out the Stage Race, we have added the Thursday Criterium, the traditional Friday Road Race, and a Saturday time trial on the Fort Ord Public Lands!

This event will showcase the professional domestic road teams to thousands of fans all around the Laguna Seca venue and neighboring Fort Ord Public Lands.

ENTRY FEES 

  • Professionals must register for the entire Pro Road Stage Race. Pros may not register for the Criterium, Road, or Circuit as a single event.
  • Professional Elite Road Stage Race entry fee: $150 (includes four events:  Criterium, Road Race, Time Trial, and Circuit Race).  
  • Add $20 effective March 26, 2012.
  • Each event entry fee includes an athlete hospitality bag plus a Festival Pass valued at $30. Parking is free all week.
  • Sorry, absolutely no refunds.

ON-SITE REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICK-UP HOURS

  • Wednesday, noon to 6 p.m.
  • PACKET PICK-UP ONLY Thursday, 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.
  • No race-day registration—no exceptions.

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration:  SRAM Pro Road Stage Race

  • You must register prior to the Stage 1 Criterium by Wednesday, April 18 at 6 p.m.
  • As stated above, professionals must register for the entire Pro Road Stage Race. Pros may not register for the Criterium, Road, or Circuit as a single event.
  • All fields are limited to 180. Teams are limited to 10. Please register early. 
  • To request Host Housing (which is limted and first-come first-serve), please complete the form posted below, and return no later than March 31, 2011. Host Housing is limited and not guaranteed - you must be a registered athlete to REQUEST Host Housing.
  • USA Cycling sanctioned. All riders must have a current license issued by USA Cycling.

Registration:  All SOC Races

  1. Competitor racing age is determined by the age of the rider on December 31, 2012. Please take care to register for the correct age group, or you will be moved to the correct age group prior to race day.
  2. Online registrations only through April 15, 2012, 11:59 p.m.
  3. On-site registration begins at noon on April 18, 2012.
  4. No phoned, faxed, or mailed race registrations will be accepted.
  5. Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  6. Prior to April 15, 2012, requests for event changes, and for category changes within an event, will be complimentary and can be done by emailing frosty@seaotterclassic.com. You will be responsible for any increase in entry fee.  There will be no refunds for reduced entry fees.
  7. After April 15, 2012, requests for event changes, and for category changes within an event, will only be accepted on-site at registration. (Registration opens at noon on April 13.) A $10 fee will be charged for each event change, and you will also be responsible for any increase in entry fee. There will be no refunds for reduced entry fees.

  • Managers Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday April 18 at 7 p.m. Red Bull Energy Center Building - which is Athlete Registration.
  • 2012 Overall results will be calculated using a GC (time-based) system.
  • The 2012 Sea Otter Classic Technical Guide can be downloaded here.
  • All W-9s must be picked up and completed at Athlete Registration to insure you recieve any cash prizes.

Additional Info:  All SOC Races           

  1. ANSI- or Snell-approved helmets required for all events.
  2. All regulations from the USA Cycling Rule Book apply.
  3. All participants must sign a waiver/release form at registration. A parent or guardian who is present on-site must sign for participants under 18 years old.
  4. Race numbers may not be cut, folded, altered, or defaced in any way. If they are, the athlete will be disqualified and fined.
  5. Please verify start times and other critical event issues when checking in at registration.
  6. All information is subject to change.  Please check this website frequently.

AWARDS

Awards:  SRAM Pro Road Stage Race

  • The top three stage winners will receive a medal. GC, KOM/QOM and Sprints cash available after Stage 4.
  • Total prize breakdown is posted in the Technical Guide.
  • Please check at the main awards stage located in the Expo area, for times of award presentations. All Awards times will be detailed at Wednesday's Manager's Meeting.

Awards:  All SOC Races

  1. Preliminary results and protests.  Top ten preliminary results will be posted within fifteen minutes of competition completion. Any protests must be filed with a designated protest official within fifteen minutes of preliminary-results posting.  All signed official results are final.
  2. Complete final race results will be posted online at www.seaotterclassic.com by midnight the same day of the Stage.

  4. Podium winners may receive merchandise from various Sea Otter sponsors.
  5. Athletes must be in attendance at the Awards Ceremony to receive their prizes. Awards and cash prizes will not be mailed; no exceptions.

Got dogs?

Sorry, dogs are not allowed in the Festival, including the racing areas. This policy will be strictly enforced.
