Friday,Saturday, and SUNDAY April 18-20, 2008

The SRAM Dual Slalom is a classic. The single best Dual Slalom race in the world, the legendary Sea Otter course includes massive berms, tricky off-cambers, jumps and rhythm sections to challenge riders and thrill spectators. Course builder and designer Keith Defiebre has prepared a few surprises for 2008.....

  • Early Entry fee: $50. ; $65. (after March 20); $75. (after April 4).
  • Entry Fee includes: Athlete Hospitality Bag (valued at approximately $50.) plus a four day Festival Pass that includes FREE parking and expo entry (valued at $30.) 

    General Event Rules:

  • NEW - No longer are we offering a separte Masters category - but we have master age groups in beginner, sport and expert.

  • NEW for 2008 - Beginner and  Sport  Dual Slalom Finals are scheduled for Sunday April 20 at 1:00pm

  • On Site Registration and Packet Pick-up Hours

    Amateur Athlete Registration:
    Wednesday 12 noon to 7 pm
    Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6am to 7pm

    Important Registration Information

    • USA Cycling-sanctioned. Riders must present a current ANNUAL USA Cycling license at registration if they are registering as an Expert-Semi-Pro-Professional rider. One day race permits are available during online registration process or on-site for $10.00 for Beginner and Sport category racers. Save time and purchase an Annual Racing License from USA Cycling at www.usacycling.org
    • All Juniors (except Junior Expert), Beginners, and Sport category racers must purchase a one-day permit (either online or on-site) - please allow for extra time at Athlete Registration if you are purchasing a one day race racing permit. 
    • No phone or faxed entries will be accepted.
    • You must enter online before April 13, 2008 or on-site (after April 13, 2008), on a first-come-first-served basis.
    • Competitor age is determined by the age of the rider on Dec. 31, 2008.  

    General Event Rules:

    • All fields are limited. Please register early. In the case of small fields, any categories/classes may be combined.
    • All participants will sign a waiver/release form at registration. Those under 18 years old require a parent's or guardian's signature who must be present at Athlete Registration.
    • ANSI or Snell approved helmets required for all events.
    • Race numbers may not be cut, folded, altered or defaced in any way - if race numbers are the athlete will be disqualified and fined.
    • All USA Cycling Rules apply.
    • Sorry, no pets allowed at the event or in the camping areas (Monterey County Parks Department regulation).
    • Merchandise orders can be picked up at Athlete Hospitality and pick-up hours MAY be different than Athlete Registration..
    • All information is subject to change. Please check www.seaotterclassic.com frequently.
    • Please verify your start times and other critical event issues when checking in at registration.
    • SORRY, ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS.

    Awards:

    • All podium winners may receive a Sea Otter SWAG-BAG containing goodies from various sponsors. Medals will awarded 4 deep in all categories.
    • Professional Athletes will recieve cash prizes.  $4500 total cash prize purse that includes the traditional $20. to the winner of each run in the earlier rounds of 32 and 16. 
    • Awards presentations at the Dual Slalom stage immediately after all the Dual Slalom Finals.
    • Top ten Preliminary results will be posted within 15 minutes of competition completion. Any and all protests must be filed within 15 minutes of results posting with the designated PROTEST Official.Complete preliminary race results will be available within three hours of race completion and be available on www.seaotterclassic.com immediately after the event on Monday April 21, 2008.
    • Final Results will be posted and available on www.seaotterclassic.com no later than Friday April 25, 2008.
    • All protests must be filed with the designated PROTEST Official within 15 minutes of preliminary TOP TEN Awards results posting.
    • All signed, official results are FINAL.
    •  VERY IMPORTANT - After competition day, only protests outside of the TOP TEN finishers MAY be accepted and results MAY be adjusted up until Friday April 25, 2008. After Friday April 25, 2008 ALL RESULTS ARE FINAL - NO EXCEPTIONS.
    • Athletes must be in attendance at the awards ceremony to receive prizes.
    • Awards will not be mailed - NO EXCEPTIONS.
