Hungry?

Chefs for more than a dozen different food vendors are ready for you.  These selected vendors know that being outdoors—especially being on a bike—works up a healthy appetite.  And they have healthy culinary options:  salads, smoothies, vegetarian options, chicken, and more.

Hey, Sea Otter Classic is a festival, and the celebratory atmosphere brings out the desire for fun traditional fair food for many people.   Got that covered, too!  The cooks at Sea Otter will be firing up the barbecue over at the Sierra Nevada Beer & BBQ Garden, and here at the international Food Court, they’ll also be fixing burgers, along with pizza, burritos, and other yummy munchies.

Food is more nourishing in the company of others, mealtimes are meant to be a social experience.  At Sea Otter, we don’t expect you to grab and go, or eat on the run.  Kick back!  Settle in and savor your food at the dining tables under the shelter of the big tent, where you and your friends can enjoy this time together in any weather.  Missing some of the comforts of home?  The Food Court has running water and indoor bathrooms.

When you’ve finished your meal, maybe you won’t be done socializing…so order another glass of wine, a beer, or a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage.  See what’s up for dessert.   Enjoy!  That’s what Sea Otter is about.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

One more thing:  From the first year, Sea Otter is also about caring for this beautiful Earth we bike on.  Please join us in ramping up our environmental efforts!

Reduce, reuse:  Bring your own reusable cup or mug for beverages.  (If you need to purchase one, look for one of the many stainless steel ones available, to reduce consumption of plastic.)   Many people like to carry their own reusable cloth napkin and silverware, too—and some also bring a camping plate/bowl in their walkabout bag or pack.   Although this isn’t a habit everyone is accustomed to, please make it a goal.  Eliminating the use of throwaways, even some of the time, means you will help further reduce the carbon footprint of this event.  Besides, it makes your dining experience more pleasurable!

Recycle:  Naturally, make sure all your recyclables disposed of at the event get put into one of Sea Otter’s recycle bins.
